Terms of Sale & License
Effective October 9, 2026. Plain-language terms for buying and using Checkdown.
Who we are
Checkdown is made and sold by Towers One, LLC ("Towers One", "we"). Questions about these terms: .
Your license
When you buy Checkdown, we give you a license to install and use it. You don't buy the software itself; you buy the right to use it, as described here.
- One computer at a time. Each license can be active on one computer. You can move it to a different computer by entering your key there; the previous computer switches back to trial mode. Moves are limited to five in 30 days to prevent sharing; contact us if you need more.
- Yours to keep. Every version released while your updates are current is yours to use for as long as you like.
- One year of updates. Your purchase includes new versions released within one year of the purchase date. After that, Checkdown keeps working; to get versions released later, renew updates for $50, which covers another year (from the renewal date, or added to your current end date if you renew early).
- Education licenses are for schools, school districts and their staff and student media programs, verified with a school email address. We may ask for more information, and may convert a license to Commercial pricing if it isn't eligible.
- Commercial licenses are for anyone, including broadcasters, booster clubs, businesses and individuals.
What you can't do
- Share, sell, rent or give away your license key, or use one license on more than one computer at a time.
- Remove or get around Checkdown's license checks, trial mark or update coverage.
- Redistribute Checkdown or modified copies of it.
We can deactivate a license that's used against these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why at the email you bought with.
Free trial
You can use every feature free for 30 days. After that, Checkdown keeps working but shows a small "Checkdown trial" mark on your stream until you add a license key.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars: Education $75, Commercial $125, updates renewal $50. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Any sales tax that applies is shown at checkout. We may change prices for future purchases; this never changes a purchase you've already made.
Refunds
If Checkdown isn't right for you, you can get a full refund within 14 days of buying a license or renewing updates. Email with the email you bought with. A refunded license is deactivated; a refunded renewal returns your license to its previous updates date. After 14 days, purchases aren't refundable except where the law requires it. Please use the free 30-day trial to make sure Checkdown works with your setup before buying.
Your stream, your content
Checkdown runs on your computer. The logos, sponsor ads, team information and video you use with it are yours, and you're responsible for having the right to use them, including any school, league or music rights for your broadcast.
Other software
Checkdown works with OBS Studio, Python and ffmpeg, which are separate free programs under their own licenses. The installer downloads Python and ffmpeg from their official sources.
No warranty
We work hard to make Checkdown reliable on game night, but it's provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee it will be error-free or work with every computer, OBS version or network.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Towers One, LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost sponsorship or advertising revenue, a missed broadcast, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim about Checkdown is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you buy applies to that purchase; changes apply to later purchases and renewals. We'll post the effective date at the top of this page.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA.
